The sense of smell is many animals primary defence against predators. So when hunting, as well as deceiving animal’s senses of sight with camouflage outfits, it is imperative to ensure your scent is masked as well.

Our homes are full of scents that our senses have become accustomed to, such as hairspray, perfumes and cooking smells, so much so in some cases that we can no longer smell them. Many hunters believe that washing clothes and equipment is sufficient to remove these odours, but washing powders often contain scents and perfumes that will act as an invisible warning signal to animals.

Specialist odour eliminators for hunting are available, but these can often be costly and difficult to use. Soap Flakes from Dri-Pak are a quick, easy and cost effective way to remove odours from clothing as they do not contain any perfumes, enzymes or bleaches.

To eliminate odours, simply hand wash clothes in a warm Soap Flakes solution and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Wring out excess water and dry on a line outside. Soap Flakes are also suitable for cleaning and eliminating odours from outdoor wear, boots and equipment. After washing, place clothes and equipment in airtight containers or bags to prevent household smells permeating them.
